State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has recovered electric power to Balaraja Extra High Voltage substation in Banten Province, and furthermore it will be channeled to Suralaya steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) to gradually recover its operation to reach its capacity of 2800 MW of electricity.
In addition, power supply from Gandul Extra High Voltage substations in Depok, West Java Province, will be channeled to Muara Karang gas and steam power plant (PLTGU) to supply electricity to the Indonesian capital city, Jakarta.
Acting President Director of PLN Sripeni Inten Cahyani said here on Sunday that the power supply to Jakarta was expected to recover within three hours.
"We apologize for the inconvenience today, and currently all efforts have been made to recover the Java-Bali power system, especially in the area of West Java, Banten, and Jakarta," Cahyani said.
The company has focused on power supply to PLTGU Muara Karang and PLTGU Priok to recover the system in the capital city.

"PLN has taken its best efforts and will have evaluation to prevent recurrence of today's incident," Cahyani said.

Head of The National Standardization Agency (BSN) Kukuh S. Achmad said that as a creative industry with promising market potential, a strategy is needed to face the challenges of this era of the creative economy industry so that Indonesian batik products can compete in the global market.
With the increasing public awareness of the quality of batik, according to Kukuh, the role of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) is becoming increasingly important.
"The government has an obligation to encourage batik producers to improve the quality of batik, through the application of SNI," he said.
Kukuh explained that the BSN is obliged to provide SNI and a scheme for the implementation, development, and facilitation of certification.
"In addition to playing a role in providing protection to the community, SNI also becomes a guide to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian products," Kukuh stated.
The BSN has set 32 standard of quality for batik and batik products in order to preserve the traditional fabric.

Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga has praised the young generation's interest and enthusiasm to become entrepreneurs in the export business started since the last few years.
"They demonstrate the spirit of entrepreneurship and the spirit to penetrate the export market. The advantage of young people in the export-oriented industrial sector is the extraordinary creativity," Sambuaga stated on Friday while welcoming the Indonesian Youth Reform Movement Council at the Ministry of Trade Office.
He noted that young people often spotted new and out-of-the-box opportunities in developing export products.
Sambuaga also saw that the young generation nowadays was not only interested in mainstream export goods, such as coffee or porang, but also in developing unique products, including coconut husks and banana fronds.
"At first glance, these items are simple or often considered trash, but in the hands of our creative young people, all of them can become products with high economic value," he emphasized.
Sambuaga remarked that several youngsters had also begun working on digital technology-based creative sectors, such as applications, online games, simulators, and animated films.
He also highlighted that youngsters pioneered and drove the Indonesian crypto industry and their role across industries and levels is projected to increase.
Hence, Sambuaga expressed optimism about the future of Indonesia's exports, especially since during the period from 2020 to the third quarter of 2021, Indonesia had continued to record excellent international trade performance, with a surplus of up to US$20 billion in 2021.
Moreover, until August 2021, Indonesia's foreign trade had recorded a surplus of over US$19 billion.
"The young people's interest in export-oriented industries will result in the development of more products for more export destination countries," he pointed out.
On the other hand, the government should facilitate keen members of the young generation through synergies and collaboration across ministries and related stakeholders, according to Sambuaga.
He expressed confidence that ministries and institutions in charge of the production sector will continue to facilitate the export industry, while several export development facilitation programs are in place at the Ministry of Trade.
The facilitation of export development in the Trade Ministry is focused more on the downstream sector, specifically design, marketing, business matching, settlement of trade agreements, settlement of trade disputes, and others.
“I am very happy because our communication and collaboration with other ministries are getting better. Hence, synergy in the production system, financing, marketing to logistics, and transportation is also getting better. In future, we hope to be able to solve more problems to increase the income of our export industry," he added. (Antaranews)
Deputy of Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Siti Azizah has encouraged micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to join the digital ecosystem to help recover Indonesia's economy.
The MSMEs played a crucial role in the National Economic Recovery (PEN) program, she told a press conference held virtually and live in Solo, Central Java, on Thursday.
Azizah highlighted that some 99 percent of businesses are MSMEs that absorb 97 percent of Indonesia's total workforce and contribute 61 percent of the nation's GDP.
"From this data, we can see how important the MSMEs are for PEN. This can be achieved through synergy and collaboration with all parties -- the central government, regional administrations, ministries or institutions, and, of course, private parties," she elaborated.
The government is targeting to digitally migrate 30 million MSMEs by 2024 in accordance with the directive of President Joko Widodo. Hence, collaboration among various parties and stakeholders can be expected to help achieve that target, she emphasized.
Citizens also play a vital role in the MSMEs ecosystem since they are the primary consumers for Indonesian products, she added.
Azizah stressed that Indonesia should be proud, and Indonesian products should be bought.
"Hence, once again, people, please buy Indonesian products. MSMEs entrepreneurs, do not be afraid to go digital," she emphasized.
In addition, Azizah stated that the #BangkitBersama Movement carried out by GoTo, Indonesia's technology giant, comprising Gojek, GoTo Financial, and Tokopedia, is part of the efforts of all parties to drive improvement in MSMEs in order to grow Indonesia's economy. (Antaranews)

Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian has proposed incentives for local governments that manage to eliminate extreme poverty in their respective regions.
"We have proposed this to the Vice President: to give a reward as motivation. It can be a reward from the President or the Vice President, or incentive fund, which is usually provided for top achiever regions," he informed.
The reward would be given based on an evaluation by the central government on regions' efforts to reduce extreme poverty, he said after attending a working meeting on the acceleration of extreme poverty eradication with Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in Bandung, West Java on Wednesday.
"The Vice President said we will conduct a final evaluation and also monthly evaluations. We will see which region makes progress," he added.
Meanwhile, Vice President Amin said the target to eradicate extreme poverty in seven provinces in 2021 would be a tough challenge as the government only has three months left this year.
"The challenge is that we only have three months left to end the year 2021. While we have to handle 35 districts and cities in 7 provinces. It means that we have to reduce (the number of extreme poverty cases) by more than two million," he noted.
The seven priority provinces for extreme poverty alleviation in 2021 are West Java, Central Java, East Java, Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua, and West Papua, he said.
From each province, five districts and cities representing 20 percent of the national extreme poverty rate would be selected, he added.
In West Java, the five priority districts for extreme poverty eradication are Cianjur, Bandung, Kuningan, Indramayu, and Karawang, with a total of 460,327 people living under the extreme poverty line, he informed.
The National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) is aiming to reduce extreme poverty by 20 percent in 2021 by lifting around 2.1 million of the total 10.86 million poor people from extreme poverty in Indonesia, he said.
The extreme poverty rate would be further reduced by 35 percent in 2022 and 2023, and 10 percent in 2024.
According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the extreme poverty rate in the country has reached four percent of the population, or around 10.86 million. However, the poverty rate, in general, reached 10.14 percent, or around 27.54 million, as of March 2021, it said.
According to the World Bank's standard for poverty, people earning less than US$1.91 per day can be classified as living under the extreme poverty line.
The World Bank projects global extreme poverty to increase by 88 million to 115 million in 2021 due to economic contraction seen in several countries due to the COVID-9 pandemic.
In 2020, the global extreme poverty rate reached its highest record in the past two decades, the World Bank stated. (Antaranews)
Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi is optimistic that trade between Indonesia and Australia would make progress again under the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership (IA-CEPA).
The minister noted that amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the trade value in 2020 had recorded a drop of 8.8-percent, or equal to US$7.1 billion.
"There was an 8.8-percent drop. However, trade value between the two countries during the period from January to June 2021 had increased by 65 percent as compared to that during the corresponding period last year, which means it had increased significantly," the minister stated during a press conference with Australian Minister of Trade, Tourism, and Investment Dan Tehan here on Wednesday.
Minister Lutfi noted that the figures were good signs for both countries, which indicated that Indonesia-Australia trade will rebound.
"This is a good sign, and we want to do more to improve it and make history together," he affirmed.
Lutfi also acknowledged that the COVID-19 pandemic posed a major obstacle in intensifying trade between Indonesia and Australia, as the IA-CEPA negotiations were held.
However, Lutfi affirmed that Indonesia and Australia will be able to overcome the obstacles together and recover the trade after the two countries' borders reopen later.
Meanwhile, Minister Dan Tehan is also looking forward to immediately increasing economic cooperation to be more comprehensive, especially in the investment sector.
"I think what we want to see is real growth in investment relations, which is the Australian investment in Indonesia," Tehan remarked.
Tehan sees huge potential for investment in Indonesia's sectors, including education, renewable energy, minerals, and rare earth metals.
The minister also believes that Australia can contribute to the development of electric cars in Indonesia.
"We are very confident of being a supplier of some key materials that will help Indonesia develop electric vehicles, so those are some matters I think we need to work on," he added. (Antaranews)
