Jakarta Governor Appreciates the Work of Ajip Rosidi
Written by Ani HasanahJakarta Governor Anies Baswedan expressed his appreciation to an Indonesian poet and short story writer Ajip Rosidi who has colored Indonesian literary world for 6 decades. In his speech via telephone at “Six (6) Decade Ajip Rosidi, Coloring Indonesian Literature” held at Auditorium Abdurrahman Saleh, RRI, Anies Baswedan said Ajip Rosidi is one example of the consistency of the nation's children in working especially in developing Indonesia’s literature.
“I would like to express my appreciation and congratulations to Pak Ajip who has dedicated 6 decades of his life to color Indonesian literature. 6 decades is not a short time for a human journey. 6 decades is a long journey for a man. But Ajip is consistently steadily continuing to pace the way that may be quiet for some. But for Pak Ajip this way is the way of work, the way of giving meaning. And let me as one of the citizens of Indonesia, one of the nation's children, who had always read and often find the name of pak Ajip, this night let me express my gratitude and appreciation,” Governor Anies Baswedan said.
Furthermore, Anies Baswedan also expressed his commitment to develop HB Jassin Literature Documentation Center which was submitted to Jakarta city government some time ago. According to him, the government is committed to continuing the management of HB Jassin Literary Documentation Center as well as developing it. Anies also promised to introduce Indonesian literary works to the millennial generation, although the current generation will continue with digital ink. (VOI/ndy/AHM)

President Jokowi Invites IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde to Visit Pertamina Central Hospital
Written by Ani HasanahPresident Joko Widodo invited IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde to make impromptu visits to a number of locations in Jakarta after they had a meeting at the Merdeka Palace Jakarta Monday (26/02/2018). The first location was Pertamina Central Hospital in Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta. The President invited Christine to have a look at the services for participants holding Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS) and social security system for health. The head of state said he is proud that Indonesia has a health service program in the form of Social Security Administration Body (BPJS) and Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS). Jokowi said many countries view that the health insurance program managed by Indonesia is big enough. However, he said it is not easy to manage the BPJS and KIS programs.
Meanwhile, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde appreciated the Indonesian government's ability to run the social security system for its people. Lagarde also promised to invite thousands of people to Bali to attend the IMF World Bank Annual Meeting in October 2018.
"I was very pleased to visit this hospital today with President Jokowi. I'm coming from France where we have had social security system for a long time. I was very impressed by the universal coverage. To have 90 million people for free it was a fantastic achievement. This facility is impressive, the size of the room, the speed which patients are included in the systems that support the digital economy, Bravo to you President and also for those who work in the hospitals,” said IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde.
During a visit to the Pertamina Central Hospital (RSPP), President Jokowi and Christine Lagarde saw the condition of the first and third-class patient care rooms. When visiting the third-class patient's room, President Jokowi explained to Lagarde that a good three-grade classroom is provided to patients for free. There is a difference with the first class room where the first room is occupied by two beds, while in the third-class patient room five beds. President Joko Widodo Shows Lagarde The Power of Economy at Tanah Abang
Written by Ani HasanahPresident Joko Widodo (Jokowi) invited IMF Director Christine Lagarde to have impromptu visit to Tanah Abang wholesale center, Jakarta, on Monday (26/2/2018).
After the impromptu visit, Jokowi told Lagarde that at Tanah Abang Wholesale Center, there are about 19 thousand kiosks showing small, medium and micro business sectors in Indonesia.
"In fact, we have more than 19 thousand kiosks at Tanah Abang. It's a great power. So this will be a field experience for Mrs. Lagarde so that the economic design to be done can be in line with the economic policy of each country," explains Jokowi.
Meanwhile, Lagarde stated, that she was impressed by the boisterous Tanah Abang Market. She also advised and put the hope to the government of Jokowi to continue reform in various sectors.
"I convey to the President that the economy is very good in Indonesia. This economy is driven by consumption, investment and export, and the three economic machines are doing well. I am very impressed with the reform program led by President Jokowi. I hope that the President and his team will continue this reform program in other areas, such as infrastructure, education, and other social sectors," Lagarde said.
Jokowi also previously told Lagarde that there are so many small, medium, and micro business sectors in Indonesia. Jokowi also said that all these sectors are facing openness and economic digitization. (KBRN/PR/AHM)

Indonesian Language Used in Mecca's Mosque Sermon Book
Written by Ani HasanahThe President of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque Affairs, Sheikh Abdur-Rahman As-Sudais, said that the Indonesian language is used in the book of Khutbahs (sermons) of the holy mosques of Haramain. Sheikh As-Sudais said in Mecca on Sunday (25/2), that Indonesian language is very important in the world, and this is the holy mosque duty to use it to send messages of khutbahs in Haramain to the ummah (followers). The holy mosques use different languages as a means of spreading Prophet Muhammad`s messages which are universal in nature and it is also in line with Saudi government`s effort to go universally in the implementation of its vision 2030. The languages are used with new technology in order that the messages can be learned internationally, the president of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet`s Mosque Affairs told visiting Indonesian senior journalists from Antara News Agency, the Jakarta Post and Republika. He is aware that it is now the era of media which use languages as a means of delivering messages to the public, especially their audiences both nationally and internationally. (Antara)
