PLN Gradually Recovers Electricity Supply (0)
State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has recovered electric power to Balaraja Extra High Voltage substation in Banten Province, and furthermore it will be channeled to Suralaya steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) to gradually recover its operation to reach its capacity of 2800 MW of electricity.
In addition, power supply from Gandul Extra High Voltage substations in Depok, West Java Province, will be channeled to Muara Karang gas and steam power plant (PLTGU) to supply electricity to the Indonesian capital city, Jakarta.
Acting President Director of PLN Sripeni Inten Cahyani said here on Sunday that the power supply to Jakarta was expected to recover within three hours.
"We apologize for the inconvenience today, and currently all efforts have been made to recover the Java-Bali power system, especially in the area of West Java, Banten, and Jakarta," Cahyani said.
The company has focused on power supply to PLTGU Muara Karang and PLTGU Priok to recover the system in the capital city.
Previously, PLN has recovered the operation of hydro-generated power plant (PLTA) Saguling and PLTA Cirata which are functioned as power stabilizer, and, at the same time, supply the electricity to PLTU Suralaya through Cibinong, Depok, Gandul, Lengkok, Balaraja and Suralaya extra high voltage substations.
PLTU Suralaya is expected to return to its normal operation within six hours to normalize power system in West Java and Banten.
Blackout that affected thousands of homes and public facilities in West Java, Jakarta, and Banten was caused by several troubles in the extra high voltage 500 kV transmission of Ungaran - Pemalang.
"PLN has taken its best efforts and will have evaluation to prevent recurrence of today's incident," Cahyani said.

Tourism destinations in Indonesia have again received international awards. This time Raja Ampat in West Papua won an award from Lonely Planet.
Raja Ampat was chosen as one of six global destinations from around the world. Which is recommended as a destination that must be visited (must visit location) 2023 as an 'unwind destination'.
Or in other words, a destination that is famous for its underwater beauty was chosen as a destination for relaxation. Also running away from busyness, releasing fatigue, and looking for calm and peace.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno said this award brought hope for the revival of Indonesia's tourism destinations. At the same time, it proves that the global tourism trend has changed from the old 3S.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, added that Raja Ampat was chosen because of its coral reefs and diving spots. Its less crowded atmosphere can be an alternative to Indonesia's new island for foreign tourists.
"We hope that this award will help increase the awareness of the international community about Raja Ampat and Indonesia. At the same time spurring all Indonesian tourism actors to improve the management of 3S destination management," he said.
This award from Lonely Planet adds to the series of awards that Wonderful Indonesia has received throughout 2022. Previously, Bali was ranked first in the 10 happiest holiday destinations in the world according to Club Med, a France-based Travel and Tourism Operator.

President Jokowi Appreciates the Bali G20 Summit Committee

Before leaving for Bangkok, Thailand, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended the Thanksgiving of the 2022 G20 National Committee. The event was held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Thursday (11/17/2022).
In his remarks, the Head of State expressed his appreciation to all parties who have participated in the successful implementation of the G20. "First of all, I would like to express my appreciation and appreciation for the hard work of all of you, ladies and gentlemen," he said.
"TNI, Polri, BIN, regional government, all ministries, all institutions, event supporters, all hotel crews. I see the integrated management, the organization in the field is very neat," he said.
The President also said that all heads of state and leaders of international institutions who attended also expressed their appreciation for Indonesia. According to the President, all events ran smoothly and conducively.

G20 Countries Appreciates Indonesian Presidency

Indonesia's G20 presidency was officially handed over to India, coinciding with the end of the G20 Summit, Wednesday (16/11/2022), in Nusa Dua, Bali. Leaders of member countries expressed their appreciation for Indonesia's G20 Presidency over the past year.
President of Turkey, Recep Tayyib Erdogan said, Indonesia was successful in carrying out a leadership role in the midst of various world challenges. His party also specifically paid tribute to the Indonesian Presidency in the G20.
"I also want to express my appreciation to the Indonesian Presidency and wish success to the next India presidency," Erdogan said in a press conference that was held after the closing of the G20 Summit, at the Media Center, Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Wednesday (16/11/ 2022) afternoon.
Erdogan is optimistic that the G20 can overcome economic challenges with a solution-oriented approach. He hoped that the various promises and agreements reached during the Summit would have an impact on global political and economic stability.
"In this case, I hope that the consultations and promises that we made over the last two days will produce positive results for global political and economic stability," he said.
The same opinion regarding the success of Indonesia's G20 Presidency, was also conveyed by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Ono Hikariko. Ono said Japan appreciated the strong leadership taken by President Jokowi.
"We really appreciate the strong leadership taken by President Jokowi to make thorough arrangements and make this summit possible," Ono said in a limited meeting with national media at the Media Center.
Japan also praised the leaders' communiqué achieved at the summit, having many substantive elements. "So, we are really excited about this document because as I said, it could be a big step forward in terms of the fact that we are going to have a G7 meeting," Ono added.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed his appreciation for Indonesia's G20 Presidency, which he said was carried out in the midst of today's challenging world conditions. This was conveyed by Sunak in a press conference, at the Hilton Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali, Wednesday (16/11/2022) afternoon.
"I would like to thank the president of Indonesia, President Joko Widodo for the role he has played in hosting these discussions and leading the G20 at this challenging time," said Rishi.
The new British PM said that the communiqué produced at the Summit was also the work of the entire Indonesian team which deserves to be appreciated too. "But the communiqué released today is substantive. It is comprehensive. It is action oriented," explained Rishi.

G20 Summit Golden Momentum of Indonesia-UK Diplomatic Relations

The presidency of the G20 Summit is a golden momentum for Indonesia-UK diplomatic relations. This was conveyed by British Ambassador to Indonesia Owen Jenkins.
"I feel very fortunate to be in Indonesia. This is the golden age of good relations between the two countries," Ambassador Owen told journalists, Wednesday (16/11/2022).
He considered that the relations between the two countries had been very good so far. Of course, with various collaborations in various fields.
"I think relations between the two countries are in very good condition. I think both Indonesia and the UK see great potential for the two countries to work together in a number of fields and sectors," he said.

G20 Success, Threat of 2023 Recession Won't Happen

Indonesia's threat of a recession in 2023 will not occur. This was reflected in the success of the G20 Summit in Bali.

Indonesia-Turkey Sign Cooperation Contract at the G20 Summit

The Government of Indonesia and the Government of Turkey signed a cooperation contract between the private sectors in the series of organizing the G20 Summit.
Several collaborations witnessed by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono were carried out starting from the construction of toll roads to defense.
For the construction of the Trans Sumatra toll road it was signed by Operations Director III PT Hutama Karya Koentjoro. As well as Deputy President of the Board of Directors of ERG Insaat Ticaret ve Sanayi Mustafa Sani Erbilgin.
PUPR Ministry spokesperson Endra S. Atmawidjaja said Turkey has good experience and mastery of technology in toll road construction. So, this collaboration is very appropriate as a step to continue the construction of the Trans Sumatra toll road.
"For this reason, we hope that this MoU will not stop here, but can produce output and real impact for Indonesia," said Endra, Tuesday (15/11/2022).
Meanwhile, the electric bus production cooperation was signed by the Co-Founder of PT Scahmindo Perkasa Roberto Pangasian. Followed by the CEO of Karsan Otomotiv Sanayii ve Ticaret Okan Bas.
There is also cooperation in the field of defense signed by the Indonesian Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto and Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar. Then, the MoU on research, technology and innovation collaboration by the Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Laksana Tri Handoko and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

President Jokowi Pushes for Strengthening Global Health Architecture

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) pushed for strengthening the global health architecture at the G20 Summit.
According to him, the world must not be complacent even though it is now recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic because the next health emergency can arise at any time.
Therefore, President Jokowi encourages the G20 to take concrete and immediate steps so that the world is better prepared to save lives and the world economy.
This was stated by President Jokowi in the second session of the G20 Summit which discussed health issues at the Apurva Kempinski Hotel, Badung, Bali, Tuesday (11/15/2022).
"The G20 must take concrete and immediate steps. First, the global health architecture must be strengthened. We need a stronger and more effective WHO so that solidarity and justice must become the spirit of the global health architecture," said the President.
In this regard, the G20 has succeeded in establishing a pandemic fund. According to the President, this initiative must be followed by additional funding contributions so that it functions optimally.
"I invite all parties to contribute, Indonesia has committed $50 million. The G20 must also take part in overseeing the process of forming this Pandemic Treaty," he said.
Second, the President encourages developing countries to be empowered as part of the solution. According to him, health capacity gaps cannot be tolerated and developing countries need empowering partnerships.
In addition, he said, developing countries must also become part of the global health supply chain, including manufacturing and research centers.

UN Secretary General, US President Praises Indonesia As G20 Host

The country guests at the G20 Summit praised the organization of the conference and President Joko Widodo's leadership.
President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach attending a luncheon at the Bamboo Dome at The Apurva Kempinski, Nusa Dua, Bali. He expressed his appreciation for the holding of the G20 Summit.
Bach said the theme of the G20 Summit Recover Together, Recover Stronger was in accordance with the IOC's new motto, namely Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together.
“The G20 motto perfectly echoes the new Olympic motto,” said Bach, quoted by TVRINews, Wednesday (16/11/2022).
Prior to Bach, praise and appreciation had also been addressed to President Joko Widodo who was considered capable of encouraging dialogue in the interests of all citizens of the world. One of them is the President of the United States Joe Biden.
President Biden was the only head of state who made a gesture of respect by raising his right hand to forehead level when meeting President Jokowi upon arriving at The Apurva Kempinski, the location for the G20 Summit.
Through its official Instagram, @POTUS hopes to continue working with Indonesia in preserving system-based rules and international interests that adhere to human rights.
"Indonesia is an active and crucial partner for the United States," Biden continued.
Likewise, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed his appreciation to President Joko Widodo for his role in the G20 Presidency. The two met at The Apurva Kempinski, on Monday (14/11) afternoon.
"I want to continue to work with Indonesia in dealing with issues in the region as well as new issues at the global (level), including efforts to create a free and open Indo-Pacific," said Fumio Kishida.
Then, the Russian Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also previously voiced its respect for the Indonesian Presidency at the G20 because it brought a unifying message.
"We welcome the constructive approach of the current Indonesian leadership to advance a unifying agenda under the motto of post-crisis global economic recovery," said Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova on Thursday (10/11).
Furthermore, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese via his personal Instagram account @albomp on Monday (14/11), called Indonesia a friend who has the same views on peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.
Not only state officials, the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) António Guterres also saluted Indonesia's leadership at the G20. According to Guterres, Indonesia, which has taken the lead in geopolitical tensions that have triggered economic turmoil, has succeeded in encouraging dialogue among the G20 countries.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque symbolizes RI-UAE friendship: Widodo

The newly-inaugurated Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Solo, Central Java, is a symbol of the brotherhood between the people of Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has said.
"This mosque will serve as a symbol of brotherhood, a symbol of friendship between the people of Indonesia and the UAE," the President remarked while issuing a press statement after attending a series of events ahead of the G20 Summit.
The statement was streamed on the Youtube channel of the Presidential Secretariat on Monday night.
Widodo and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan inaugurated the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Banjarsari sub-district, Surakarta, Central Java, on Monday morning.
The inauguration of the mosque took place amid the Indonesian President's hectic agenda ahead of the G20 Summit in Nusa Dua, Bali.
Both leaders arrived at the mosque at 7:25 a.m. local time (UTC +7), following which they took a tour of the mosque and offered a short prayer.
Widodo and Mohammed bin Zayed then walked to the mosque's front yard to sign a plaque and plant a tree together.
He spent some time greeting the residents gathered on the mosque’s grounds, following which he and Mohammed bin Zayed left the mosque.
Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as well as UAE representatives and Muslim figures attended the mosque's opening ceremony. (Antaranews)

Indonesia, Turkey ink pact to make electric buses, build toll road

Indonesia and Turkey signed several strategic government-to-government and two business-to-business agreements on Monday.
"In accordance with the President's directives, there are several important agreements between the business world (of the two countries) that we have so far encouraged and now, it has entered the final process. But only two agreements are ready to be signed," Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey Lalu M. Iqbal informed in a written statement released on Monday.
The two nations will soon focus on realizing the agreements they have signed and accelerating the signing of agreements that are currently under discussion.
The two business-to-business agreements inked by the two countries cover the joint production of electric buses by Karsan of Turkey and PT Schahmindo Perkasa (Credo Group) of Indonesia and the construction of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road by PT Hutama Karya of Indonesia and Turkish contractor ERG Insaat.
The signing of the agreements was witnessed by Indonesian Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono, and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
The agreements between the governments of the two countries cover cooperation in the fields of defense, environment, forestry, research and technology, innovation, and development cooperation assistance.
