PLN Gradually Recovers Electricity Supply (0)

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has recovered electric power to Balaraja Extra High Voltage substation in Banten Province, and furthermore it will be channeled to Suralaya steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) to gradually recover its operation to reach its capacity of 2800 MW of electricity.

In addition, power supply from Gandul Extra High Voltage substations in Depok, West Java Province, will be channeled to Muara Karang gas and steam power plant (PLTGU) to supply electricity to the Indonesian capital city, Jakarta.

Acting President Director of PLN Sripeni Inten Cahyani said here on Sunday that the power supply to Jakarta was expected to recover within three hours.

"We apologize for the inconvenience today, and currently all efforts have been made to recover the Java-Bali power system, especially in the area of West Java, Banten, and Jakarta," Cahyani said.

The company has focused on power supply to PLTGU Muara Karang and PLTGU Priok to recover the system in the capital city.

Previously, PLN has recovered the operation of hydro-generated power plant (PLTA) Saguling and PLTA Cirata which are functioned as power stabilizer, and, at the same time, supply the electricity to PLTU Suralaya through Cibinong, Depok, Gandul, Lengkok, Balaraja and Suralaya extra high voltage substations.

PLTU Suralaya is expected to return to its normal operation within six hours to normalize power system in West Java and Banten.

Blackout that affected thousands of homes and public facilities in West Java, Jakarta, and Banten was caused by several troubles in the extra high voltage 500 kV transmission of Ungaran - Pemalang.

"PLN has taken its best efforts and will have evaluation to prevent recurrence of today's incident," Cahyani said.

Minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan during his speech at the G20 B20 summit in Bali -

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut B. Pandjaitan in the Business20 (B20) Summit, Sunday (13-11-2022) said that as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, collaboration between business and the government is the most important effort that needs to be done. done for the sustainability of business, planet, and society. "I think it's important for all of us to be prepared to face the worst risks to produce good output," he said.

He said that in the midst of the current conditions, we must think about taking action in a new situation, to combat the existing existential threat, namely climate change. The recent natural disasters and famines that affect almost the entire world are directly related to the ever-increasing global temperature,” he said.

B20 as an official dialogue forum representing the global business community is not only able to recommend policies, but B20 can also follow up on these policies and prioritize the common good.

With abundant natural resources, Coordinating Minister Luhut said technology and data are the keys to finding long-term solutions to economic and environmental challenges. The hope is that it will create innovation, new jobs, improve energy efficiency, and promote industry, investment, and sustainable development.

Based on the experience of the last eight years, Indonesia has transformed its economy to become more efficient, more developed, and less dependent on commodities. "One of the many reasons behind it is our success in transforming our economy so that it is less dependent on exports of raw commodities," said Coordinating Minister Luhut. He explained that the downstream policy has turned Indonesia into a world investment center, especially for the electric vehicle (EV) and battery industry in the near future.

In addition, Indonesia is building a green industry in North Kalimantan. There will be entirely new renewable energy, such as hydropower, which could also support the manufacture of products such as batteries and battery inputs with a low carbon footprint. This is considered important because in Indonesia itself, many people use motorized vehicles, both cars and motorbikes. "If society can change from using fossil-based vehicles to EVs, then this will contribute significantly to reducing emissions," he concluded.

According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Sunday (13/11/22), the battery supply chain investment project is estimated to be worth more than USD 21 billion. On the demand side, the government is currently formulating an incentive scheme that will encourage more public use of EVs, and that will help the transition happen more quickly.

“We must prioritize the energy transition through decarbonization in the power generation sector and its use. To make this happen, we need the joint efforts of all countries, both developed and developing countries, in the energy transition," said Coordinating Minister Luhut. Furthermore, he believes that economic recovery, sustainable economic and business practices, and inclusive growth will bring prosperity to future generations//VOI

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno denied the issue of a ban on organizing events until December 2022. This was followed by many incidents, especially music concerts in recent times.

He said that organizing events was still allowed but had to pay attention to the implementation of health protocols. And security so that it can provide a sense of security and comfort for all.

"Regarding the issue that the event should not be held until December is completely untrue. This issue is very counterproductive to the music concert business in the country," he said in a statement received by RRI, Friday (11/11/2022).

President Jokowi said Sandiaga had allowed the holding of events including music concerts. Also cultural events provided that health and safety protocols are met.

"We have compiled a CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environment Sustainability) manual as a guide. So that the event can still be held but with a strict protocol," he said.

Event organizers must be able to manage activities professionally. One of them is by paying attention to the carrying capacity aspect.

"This significant increase in audience visits must be well anticipated by the event organizers. The first is about carrying capacity.

Activity organizers must also have an early warning system to be able to provide information. How many people are in one activity or location.

"So that it can reduce the potential of the crowd. As well as the availability of evacuation routes and health services," he said, affirming.

He confirmed, his party will facilitate the existing event. Please present the event plan, we will collaborate with the National Police, the Covid-19 Task Force, and the Ministry of Health," he said.

The G20 Summit (Summit) is expected to develop digital transformation, thereby opening up business opportunities amidst the threat of a global crisis. The digital transformation of Indonesia's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector was able to record significant digital growth.

"Digital transformation can bring resilience and bring opportunities when there is an economic contraction with social restrictions. Digital transformation is a solution for survival," said Alternate Chair Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) Dedy Permadi in a virtual #G20Updates, Thursday (10/11). /2022).

DEWG is a digital economy working group that discusses the digital economy, and digital transformation among G20 countries. Digital transformation is one of the three main issues that Indonesia raised at the G20 Summit.

According to Dedy, the number of MSMEs in Indonesia is around 64 million which contributes about 60 percent of Indonesia's GDP. During the Covid-19 pandemic, many MSMEs experienced adversity but quickly switched and adapted to the digital world.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, there were 9 million MSMEs digitally onboard. This number increased after the pandemic to 19 million MSMEs.

"The growth rate is quite large," he said. "This shows that some of our MSMEs have been able to take advantage of the potential of digital transformation to survive in the midst of a pandemic."

This Special Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information said that Indonesia still needs to continue to struggle. Because, there are still many MSMEs that have not been digitally onboarded.

If you look at the number 19 million from a total of 64 million MSMEs, then only 29 percent of MSMEs are digitally onboard. Concretely, Indonesia needs to work on around 71 percent of other MSMEs to be able to take advantage of opportunities in the digital space.

For this reason, Indonesia needs to discuss and find solutions at the G20 forum. This is to increase the number of digitizing the world of MSMEs.

"Their task is how to encourage MSMEs to survive and even scale up, expand their business in terms of quality and quantity," he said. "After doing the scale-up, then he can take action to go international."

At the G20 forum, three issues related to the transformation of the digital world were discussed. These are connectivity and post-pandemic recovery, digital skill literacy, and reliable cross-border data flows.

He explained that one of the highlights of the discussion on the digital transformation issue was the business sector. Indonesia will facilitate industries to meet each other, and make concrete investment commitments in the business sector of the digital world. (RRI)
