The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, Tawau, Malaysia  in collaboration with Sthamin Supermarket has established an Indonesian Corner  located at Sthamin Supermarket Hilltop,  Tawau on Monday (4/3). Indonesian Corner was inaugurated by Honorable Datuk Andi Muhammad Suryady Bin Bandy,  Assistant Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, Sabah, concurrently Member of the P191 Kalabakan Parliament and Expert of the N71 Tanjung Batu State Legislative Council.  The inauguration was attended by  Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia to Tawau, Heni Hamidah and the owner of Sthamin Supermarket, Tuan Haji Busthamin bin Paita. This inauguration is an important moment as it is the first Indonesian Corner in Sabah.

Consul General Heni Hamidah pointed out that promotional activities for Indonesian products through the establishment of the Indonesian Corner is part of economic diplomacy which is one of the focuses of Indonesia's foreign policy.

Indonesian Corner is a special booth aimed at promoting superior Indonesian products which are marketed and have been traded  in the Tawau area as well as products from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises  from North Kalimantan such as food and beverage products. Heni Hamidah  also expressed her hope that this collaboration can continue with more Indonesian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises   particularly in the border who can promote and market their products in Malaysia. During the program, North Kalimantan’s Micro, Small, and Medium enterprises such as CV Taraban Berkah with Sambal Dayak, Regan Coklat and Raftrasa Brownies Mocca Crispy also  joined actively  in the Indonesian product exhibition booth.

If you are on a trip to Kuningan, West Java, there is Cibuntu tourist village that we recommend for you to visit. Not only because the nature is beautiful but this village is also known as one of the tourist villages that often make achievements, including the fifth place in the ASEAN best tourist village for homestay category in 2016. Besides that, Cibuntu tourist village won the second place in the Best Tourist Village of the prestigious Community-Based Tourism (CBT) award in 2017 by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

 

Cibuntu tourist village, 17 kilometers from Kuningan town center, is located at the foot of Mount Ciremai. The tourist village presents the natural charm of green expanses of rice fields, bamboo forests, and other natural attractions. To enter Cibuntu village, you are charged an entrance ticket of 5,000 Rupiah or about 30 US cents per person. Entering this village, you will immediately breathe in the fresh mountain air. You can start your activities here by jogging or cycling. Not far from Cibuntu village, about 5 minutes of trekking, you can also enjoy the beauty of Gongseng Waterfall. Right under the waterfall, 20 to 25 meters high, a pool can be used for swimming or just playing in the water.

Another exciting thing you can do at the Cibuntu tourist village is visiting the Bujal Dayeuh cultural heritage site. This site is an ancient relic in the form of a stone coffin discovered in 1967 and contained a hand axe.  Other objects are also found, such as stone containers (kelenting) and hand axes from the Saurip Kidul site, which were discovered in 1972. Cibuntu tourist village also has "Cibuntu Offroad Tourism" for those who like challenges. Two offroad packages are available according to your wishes, namely offroad with a distance of 4 km and 6 km. The off-road trip will take a track through the Cibuntu rubber plantation, which covers an area of approximately 4 hectares. Besides off-roading, there is also a tour of the rubber plantation on an ATV motorbike for 20 minutes. To stay overnight, the village also provides campsites and homestays.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Lisbon again participated in Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa (BTL) 2024 at Feira Internacional de Lisboa from 28 February to 3 March in a bid to increase foreign tourist visits to Indonesia. This event is one of the largest annual tourism exhibitions on the Iberian Peninsula. Visited by at least 63,000 people, the BTL 2024 exhibition was attended by at least 75 countries, including Brazil, Italy, Spain, Venezuela, Japan, Jordan, Morocco, Peru, Guinea Bissau, Uruguay, Vietnam and South Africa.

In this series of promotions, the Indonesian Embassy in Lisbon presented an attractive booth, highlighting the beauty of Bali and five other priority tourism destinations. The Citraloka Dance Group, supported by the Indonesian Embassy in Lisbon, also amazed visitors with a performance of the Gajak Gijik Dance from Jakarta, enriching understanding of the richness of Indonesian art and culture.

Indonesian Ambassador to Portugal, Rudy Alfonso, said that the Indonesian Embassy's participation in the annual BTL 2024 event was a strategic step to promote Indonesia as a top of mind tourism destination to the European community. He also remarked that the enthusiasm of visitors at the Indonesian booth reflects the strong interest of the people of Portugal and its surroundings in Indonesia.

The participation of the Indonesian Embassy in Lisbon in the BTL 2024 event was in collaboration with the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority Implementing Agency, the Jakarta Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association, and the Banyuwangi Tourism Office.

According to data from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics, Portuguese tourist visits to Indonesia in 2023 reached 32,029 people, recording a significant recovery from previous years. It is hoped that this positive trend will continue to increase in the future.

The Iberian Peninsula is a geographical region located in southwest Europe with a population of more than 57 million people. The region which includes Portugal, Spain, as well as parts of France and Andorra is one of the most densely populated areas in Europe so that the potential for tourists and opportunities for collaboration with the business community is very large.

Penuh River or Sungai Penuh may not be so familiar to your ears. However, there upon we can find a place called ‘Khayangan Hill’. Sungai Penuh Regency in Jambi Province is surrounded by green hills and the fertile Kerinci valley. It is not surprising that Sungai penuh is a district whose a lot of tourism attractions are interesting to visit. Khayangan Hill is one of the tourism destinations that you can visit. It offers a stunning view of a series of hills, and has a height of around 2000 meters above sea level with temperatures reaching 20 degrees Celsius.

 

This hill, which directly shares a border with the Kerinci Seblat National Park, is situated at Binakarya Village in Sungai Banyak and has quite complete facilities, such as huts, gazebos, toilets, a large parking area and many others. Even though it is far from downtown of Sungai Penuh Regency, this place is a good one for visitors to relieve their fatigue.
