Considering that the Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 64 of 1999 concerning Indonesian Membership and the Contribution of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to International Organizations are no longer in line with the development of law and community needs, the government considers this Presidential Decree to be revised.

Based on that consideration, on May 10, 2019, President Joko Widodo has signed Presidential Regulation Number 30 of 2019 concerning Membership and Indonesia's Contributions to International Organizations.

Mentioned in the Perpres, Indonesian Membership and Contribution to International Organizations aims to: a. Indonesia's role and performance in international forums; b. relations between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the governments of other countries; and c. international community trust.

"Indonesia's membership and contribution is devoted as much as possible to national interests," read Article 2 paragraph (2) of this Presidential Regulation.

Indonesian membership, according to this Perpres, is carried out according to procedures and procedures that apply to International Organizations by considering: a. national priorities; b. state financial capacity; and c. Indonesian membership in similar International Organizations. (kemensetkab)
